Overview

The Minor in English is offered by the Department of English. Our classes prepare students to engage the world knowledgeably and effectively so that they may go on to lead rich lives as professionals, members of their communities and global citizens.

Residency Requirement: Students who declare a College of Liberal Arts' minor must complete at least half of the program at Temple University. This minor requires 6 courses (18 credits); at least 3 courses must be taken at Temple.

Minimum Grade and GPA Requirements: A minimum grade of C- must be earned in all courses in the minor as well as a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the discipline to earn this credential.

Restrictions: Students may not combine this program with the following CLA programs:

  • BA in Liberal Studies
  • BA in English

Minors are awarded only at the time of completion of the bachelor's degree and cannot be awarded either as a stand-alone program of study or after completion of the first bachelor's degree.
