Overview

The Minor in Environmental Studies, offered by the Department of Geography, Environment and Urban Studies, explores the complex relationships between people and their environment at local and global scales. Students develop critical thinking, spatial analysis, and research skills to understand and address the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, including climate change, environmental justice, and natural resource consumption. Coursework focuses on themes of globalization, sustainability, social justice, and geographic methods. In a job market where environmental expertise is increasingly valued across industries, the Environmental Studies minor adds depth and dimension to your degree by equipping you with the technical skills and interdisciplinary knowledge employers are looking for.
